Privacy Policy
Short version: Cyan Hour does not collect any personal data. Everything you create in the app stays on your device. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
1. Who we are
Cyan Hour is a cyanotype studio notebook: an exposure timer, a sensitiser calculator, a test-strip logger and a print journal. This policy explains what happens to information when you use it.
2. Information we collect
None. We do not operate servers that receive data from the app, and the app contains no third-party analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking software.
3. Information stored on your device

If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it. Your device's own backup (for example iCloud Backup, if you enabled it) may include the app's data under Apple's terms.
4. Permissions
- Camera — only when you tap "Camera" to photograph a print or strip.
- Photo library — through the system photo picker, only for the picture you choose.
- Notifications — local alerts for exposure done, halfway, wash done, an optional daily sun-window note and a reminder a week after your last print. They are scheduled on the device; no push service is used.
- Location — not requested. You choose a city from a built-in list and the sun's position is calculated offline.
5. Web pages inside the app
The "Further reading" shelf opens public Wikipedia articles, and Settings opens this policy and our support page, in an in-app browser that keeps no cookies or history after you close it. Those websites are run by their owners and have their own privacy policies.
6. Sharing
We do not sell, rent or share any data. A photo leaves your device only if you share it yourself using the system share sheet.
7. Children
Cyan Hour is not directed at children under 13 and collects no information from anyone, including children. Cyanotype chemicals should be handled by adults or under adult supervision.
8. Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. You can delete any print or strip inside the app, or remove all data by deleting the app. Residents of the EU/EEA, UK and California keep all rights under GDPR, UK GDPR and CCPA; contact us with any question.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
